Overview: This one-day seminar shows participants the DITA specification. Participants see how a variety of tools implement the DITA standard and work with structured content.
Delivery: Demonstration style, group-paced, delivery followed up with detailed slides and notes. This c ourse is only available for private, online delivery.
Materials: Participants receive reference materials related to seminar topics. Sample files used in the seminar are available by email, or via FTP.
Prerequisites: None.
Duration: 2 online sessions (90 minutes each)

Seminar Objectives
Upon successful completion attendees will be able to:- Identify XML tagging and syntax in relation to DITA
- Understand the DITA specification and the core set of elements it uses
- Create simple Topic, Reference, Concept and Task elements for use as stand–alone files or as part of a map document
- Build initial DITA maps
- Work with a variety of software tools to create DITA based content
- See Adobe FrameMaker, JustSystems XMetaL, oXygen XML, Altova XMLSpy and other tools build DITA files
- Run basic transforms using the DITA toolkit
- Identify key issues to consider when implementing DITA and converting legacy content
