PRESENTATION SUBMISSIONS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED FOR DITA/TechComm 2008

Presentation Content

Presentations must technical, knowledge-sharing, and without marketing. Our conferences are for the users, and we choose presenters carefully to ensure that attendees will receive good technical information in each session. Marketing of products and services cannot be part of a presentation. Whether a presenter works for a software vendor or a services vendor, they cannot market themselves and products.

Presentations focused on using products may be case studies, tutorials, or informational; they cannot market for or against use of the product in general.

Speakers cannot promote themselves and their companies during presentations; that may be done privately during networking time at the conference.

Materials

Speaker conference materials should be submitted no later than 60 days before the conference. For the DITA/TechComm which begins November 3rd, this means that presentations are due to Kay Whatley (via email) before September 4th.

All materials are the speakers' copyrighted materials, but we reseve the right to distribute them to the attendees of the conference or via the conference web site or electronic media (CD, memory stick).

Materials should be provided as PDF, with supporting files provided as needed.

Fees to Speakers

Our conference is free to all presenters and one invited guest. Each speaker's guest must register using the speaker's full name (first and last) plus "GUEST" as the promotional code. Only one guest will be confirmed per speaker

Speakers may earn a fee of $50/registrant for any registrant (who pays) that the speaker refers to the conference. To apply, the registrant must list the speaker's name on their registration. Full $50 fee applies for 4-day conference registrations.  Shorter registrations net a smaller referral fee. Referral fees are paid only when we receive payment from the registrant, and the registrant attends without cancellation or refund.

Program and Placement

Bright Path Solutions reserves the right to accept or reject any speaker for any reason. Once accepted we will do all we can to accomodate speaker requests for specific dates and time slots. This depends on the availability of a time slot and the overall "flow" of the conference. For example, advanced topics are generally covered later in a conference and introductory topics earlier.

No speaker will be given a keynote slot unless specifically discussed during the acceptance process.

Speaker Cancellations

While we understand that some circumstances may require you to cancel, we ask that you provide a backup speaker whenever possible. Backup speakers must be knowledgeable in the subject matter, and accepted by Bright Path Solutions. We also would request that if you do cancel you let us know with as much notice as possible.

Any fees that you have paid to present (your airfare, scheduled bookings/meetings and so on ) are your sole responsibility. If you cancel we will not provide any refund. In addition, cancellation may result in a penalty of any fees or commissions that we have made aailable to you through partnering offers.
