Why DITA/TECHCOMM?

This conference is about users. About the technical needs that are growing as structured documentation makes major inroads. DITA and XML are storming the gates of technical communications. The Adobe Technical communications suite is geared towards technical writers. By combining the ideas of both the technical sides of DITA and XML with the publishing needs of technical communicators that are met by Adobe systems, we feel that this conference provides two focused technical days followed by two focused publishing and communications days.

What are the Dates?

The 2008 conference is held from Monday November 3rd to Thursday November 6th.

Where is the conference held?

The conference is held in North Carolina, in Raleigh. The nearest airport is Raleigh/Durham (RDU). The location is the McKimmon Conference Center.

The address of the center is 1101 Gorman Street, Raleigh, NC. Maps of this location can be found using Google Maps, Mapquest and Microsoft Live Search Maps. When approaching on Western Blvd, turn south onto Gorman Street. The second left turn will bring you into the parking area. Enter through the main doors and we are located ahead and to the right.

Hotel information is available on the hotels page at the McKimmon Center website. We suggest the Hampton Inn & Suites on Hampton Woods Lane, as they provide shuttle and other services.

Do I need to register for all four days?

We know that you can't always get all that you want. Sometimes you can only get two or three days out of the office. We know that you may be looking at structure and need to focus on the tech. We know you may be geared on getting the Adobe Technical communications tools to work together. In any case, attend 2, 3 or all four days based on your specific needs.

How much is the conference?

Attend any two days for only US$495.00. Attend any three days for only US$695. Attend all four days for only US$795.
